Porcelain veneer

Porcelain veneer is advisable in cases of little and medium size defects (damages) and larger discolorations, and to improve the aesthetics of root treated teeth with complete dental enamel structure and of front teeth with gaps.

Advantages:

• less loss from dentine (0,3-0,5mm) at the preparation of teeth
• considerable transparency and reflective ability
• intense brightness and more natural look

Preparation of complete ceramics veneer can be applied in all cases when composit fillings won't give appropriate results while, in the same time, the preparation of ceramics crowns has relative indication.

Our intention is to sacrice as little intact dental tissue as possible at every dental preparation. This is the principal of minimum hazard of biological structures. The complete dental plates can be made of any kind of material, though requires rather big invasive dental preparation. Loss of dental material in the previous case can reach the 60-70% while at the preparation of veneers the loss of material are moving around 10-20% in average.

No matter how adventageous the veneer preparation looks, against the crown preparation, at the first sight, careful consideration will be done to decide which option is the best for the patient in the long run.

Contra-indications: deep-bite, grinding of the teeth, jamming of teeth, bigger axis alteration, abnormally worn or paradontologically damaged teeth.

Our preparation of teeth touches the upper 0,3-0,5mm layer of the enamel on average, in most of the cases, and aesthetic veneers can be prepared which matches the original teeth without any artificial appearance. With direct process, temporary veneers will be made, till the final porcelain veneers will be prepared by the dental technician (5-7 days).

We live in the age of new, restorative treatments. This opportunity is given by the dental-like translucent adhesive composites. One part of them is clearly light-hardening while the others are dual composites that harden by them-selves, besides light polymerization. We use the latest to stick the veneers prepared in deeper dental tissues. The one-block adhesive binding of dental enamel, ceramics and composite cement will result in a guaranteed excellent restauration but, because of professional limits, we apply it mainly on the front-teeth and in the little-grinding zone.
