Why do we consider important the soft-laser therapy in our dental practice?

Because by the high intensity light of lasers such biochemical processes can be generated in the cells which result in faster cell multiplication and vein regeneration, local immune stimulation and in reduction of oedemas. In consequence of cell processes and biological effects the course of healing of wounds and scars will be nicer and patient’s pains will diminish.

Our surgery is using Bilight-Opticom soft-laser equipment which is operating both in visible red light and in infra red light spectrum. Visible red ligh is absorbed approximately 5-10 mm deep in surface tissues while infra red light penetrates and have effects about twice as deep as the visible red light.

We are using the red light to treat surface oral mucus inflammatory diseases (like mucus injuries, herpes, thrush), tooth-bed diseases, pyorrhea, and gingivitis. Following oral surgery routine interventions (removal of teeth, operational removal of teeth, resections), and immediately after implantations, in the post-operational period, we are using combined laser-treatments throughout a few days.

Soft-laser therapy is a more and more important therapy tool of periodontal membrane and of periosteal inflammations while more and more indispensable supplementary tool of aparodontal curettes as well.

In soft-laser category the Bilight type equipment represent the newest generation and the highest level of quality. They are composed of two basic units; an electronics one, controlled by a built-in computer and a combined treatment head which is containing a laser-diode that can operate in both therapy spectrums.

By increasing the total power output of treatment head the treatment time demand can be reduced, and the visible laser light provides an orientation for the infra-laser as well.

The advantage of the combined treatment head is that it provides an optimum adjustment to the demands of application. Fibre optical cables can be adjusted to the treatment head which provides optimal positioning of the head in the oral cavity.

Ozone therapy

Ozone therapy is a painless method of treatment, a new possibility in dental practice to prevent tooth decay and cure gum diseases.

Ozone is one of the strongest oxidizing agents, its industrial and medical use is based on this property. It has a powerful antiseptic and germicidal effect.

Through oxidation it destroys bacteria, fungi and viruses which other substances cannot eliminate.

As a result of its beneficial effects, ozone helps wounds heal in a shorter time!

Use in dentistry:

• before and after dental surgeries
• for root canal treatment
• for the treatment of oral candidiasis
• for the treatment of deep gum pockets
• for open and closed periodontal curettage
• treatment of periodontal diseases (gingivitis, receding gums)
• treatment of inflammation (sore) caused by prosthesis

Contraindications: pacemaker, pregnancy, asthma, arrhythmia, panic disorder.
