Teeth Whitening
The natural color of our teeth is a gift that was born with us. Different coloring agents may deposit into the hard tissues of the tooth throughout the years that may cause cosmetic problems. These materials may derive from the oral cavity (tea, coffee, smoking, red wine, bacteria, products of metabolism), and from the circulation (medicines, haemoglobin, metal salts). Over time the thickness of dental enamel will reduce as well, thus the darker dentin, found deeper in the tooth will be seen through the enamel. Before tooth whitening would take place, an overall check of mouth and possible causes in the background is necessary and the clarification of expected results. The treatment will be carried out on a cured set of teeth thus the necessary dental interventions must be done beforehand.
Teeth whitening at home: On the basis of the imprint, that was prepared in the surgery, the dental technician will prepare a well fitted plastic pattern to the lower and upper dental arc. Following the bed-time tooth-brushing the patient will put proper quantity of tooth-whitening gel on the patterns and will place them to the dental arcs for the night. The gel contains 10-15% of carbamid-peroxyde that will introduce oxygen into the dentine where it will generate its bleaching effect. Other contents of gel are carrying, taste-giving, smoothing materials and moreover ingredients that will save the teeth from repeated infiltration of coloring agents after the treatment. The treatment plan is always tailored to the person and on an average, ten treatments are recommended.
Teeth-whitening in the surgery with SoniWhite equipment: The efficiency of tooth-whitening materials is many times activated by sound-waves generated by an ultrasonic device, thus accelerating the tooth-whitening process. The whitening gel contains the active ingredient in a lower concentration than usual, therefore no dentin sensitivity will occur after the treatment.
